Balls To Poverty 27/03/12
It was the last day of Balls to Poverty this week. Thanks loads to Sophie, Aston, Louis and Jacob for delivering the programme, the children loved it and the sun seemed to shine each Tuesday! Good to them for next week when they are off to deliver the course to children in the townships of South Africa.
Balls To Poverty are a charity based at South Nottingham College. They work with young people both here in Nottingham and in South Africa. The students fundraise to raise funds to buy rugby and footballs. They then take these to South Africa and coach children and young people in some of the townships. They also make a commitment to coach in Nottingham.
Starting on 21/02/12 Balls to Poverty are in Dunkirk delivering a programme that is half class based and half outdoors. It is designed to build confidence and inspire aspiration based around football. Maple, Cedar and Banyan Classes as well as Fun Club after school, will be participating over the next six weeks.
