Newstead Abbey
Cedar Class, year five, went to visit Newstead Abbey in connection with our history topic on Victorians.
- We played Victorian parlour games with Mr Webb, the owner of the house.
- Made smell bags with different spices.
- Made shadow puppets and used them to perform and retell the story of Cinderella as a class.
- Watched a Magic Lantern show.
The Lowry Exhibition
Cedar were invited to visit the Lowry Exhibition at the Djanogly Gallery, University. We looked at all of his paintings and had to choose one to draw just like Lowry! We then made story boxes which we use for story building activities back at school.
Cedar's Cooking
Dawn is one of our parents who volunteers to come and help us do cooking every Tuesday afternoon. Last term for cooking Cedar made apple crumble and cheese scones, YUM YUM!
