School Sport Funding
The school has received £9,500 of government funding during 2013/14 which has been spent on employing a PE and Sport Specialist for one day a week to support staff development, strengthen our curriculum provision in PE and increase our participation in out of school sports opportunities.
In addition, funding has been increased for our swimming programme so that we have been able to provide swimming lessons for younger children. This funding complements the school’s long history of successful involvement and competition in PE and sport.The PE and Sport Specialist has provided an action plan for each year we have received funding together with termly reports on progress and impact and an end of year report for 2013/14.

Dunkirk also received the PE and Sports Grant for 2014/2015 of £9,500 and the same for 2015/16.
The impact of this funding for 2014/15 on our PE curriculum and sports provision has been vast.
Teachers have been able to observe a specialist PE coach for up to 2 terms in the past 2 years in a wide range of areas, including dance, gymnastics, indoor and outdoor games. This has happened across both campuses and all ages.
Afterschool clubs in dodge ball, gymnastics, athletics and basketball has been available for KS2.
Year 5 ambassador training led to pupils running an Infant Agility Festival. This involved the ambassadors leading and training year 1 and 2 in different sports programmes. This happened at lunchtimes as well as during class PE sessions.
Dunkirk has entered more competitions and tournaments have been entered since this funding has been granted. Bronze award is ready to be upgraded this year! There has been huge success in different sports, currently Tag Rugby, Athletics and Hockey City Champions.
