Art Straw Challenge
Banyan Class were set a problem that they had to solve using art straws. The brief they had to follow is posted below alongside the three teams creations that fulfilled it. They were also scored on team work and style. The process involves interpreting the brief, planning, designing, building and testing. It is a real test for the children who have to draw on the experience they gained from completing earlier tasks using art straws.
First World War Diaries
To support our diary writing unit Banyan Class entered a competition to write a diary entry from a soldier in the trenches of World War One. The competition was organised as part of the commemorations of the centenary of the war by Trent to Trenches. Trent to Trenches are a 'City and County wide programme marking 100 years since the outbreak of the Great War. The programme includes a major exhibition at
Nottingham Castle from July-November 2014.'
These were the children's entries.
We have left these on the website this year as an example of the work Banyan Class produce.
