Look at what we've been growing this week!
Miss Claire has been helping out with this term's science topic - Helping Plants Grow - by helping us to make grass heads and cress heads in the classroom. The cress smells good enough to eat, and the grass is just starting to sprout through the tights. All the grass heads are super and each has a character of its very own. We have also been learning about the life cycle of a flowering plant and we have been looking for signs of life in the nature garden.
Reading challenge
Maple class are all enthusiastically reading at home and making sure that their reading records have been filled in by a parent or carer. Mrs Hollis set a challenge to get 10 days reading recorded before half term, and over half of the children in Maple Class are well on the way to being awarded a super reader award.
Keep it up Maple.

Tennis Coaching
We have been lucky enough to receive Tennis Coaching this term, by an expert from the LTA. Every Wednesday we get one hour professional coaching. Maple class are thoroughly enjoying this and 4 children will be chosen to represent Maple class at a Mini Tournament at Julbille Campus on Friday 10th February.
Pollution topic
Our pollution topic has been very popular this term. The children are expert pollution spotters and we have been out and about looking for pollution in our local area. This week the children in Maple class are making information leaflets about different kinds of pollution, and what can be done about it. They are excellent writers, using different punctuation, sentence openers and connectives.
